Jimmy Lindsey has been making film and television for over twenty-five years. As a kid, he carried an old Polaroid camera everywhere he went. It was not long before his interest in photography grew to include a love of movies. Many Saturdays were spent sitting in a theater watching multiple showings of his favorite films, sparking his desire to pursue cinematography.
While attending the University of Texas, Jimmy began working in the camera department. After earning his Bachelors Degree in film production and history in 1992, he continued to work in the industry as a Camera Assistant and later as an Operator. Over the years, he has studied the art of visual storytelling under many respected Cinematographers.
As Director of Photography, Jimmy has lensed a wide range of projects for both film and television, including ‘Timeless’ for Sony/NBC, the CBS series ‘Limitless’, JJ Abrams ‘Revolution’ for Warner Bros./NBC, ‘Machete’ for 20th Century Fox, and Armando Iannucci’s Emmy award winning comedy series ‘Veep’ for HBO.
Jimmy is a member of The International Cinematographers Guild and The American Society of Cinematographers. When not shooting on location, he lives in Austin with his two daughters Eleanor and Emma, his wife Beth, and their dogs Dexy, Luna, and The Dude.
